David has worked in the financial markets since leaving college. Initially involved in the debt and equity markets he then spent a considerable time in the evolving derivatives markets. David rose through various roles including working with fund management and externally in various industry committees to senior management where as a Director with key responsibility for operations he oversaw much change and development in the processes, procedures and risk management profiles of the firms he was associated with.

 

This wealth of experience has enabled David to author some twelve titles on subjects including areas such as operations management, derivatives, clearing, settlement and custody, fund administration and operational risk.

 

He has frequently been asked to speak at major conferences across the world.

 

David is a highly regarded and sought after trainer who works internally with a wide range of major organisations in the UK and Internationally, as well as leading public training programs for major training companies.

 

He also provides consultancy services on a wide range of topics.

 

Married with a wife, daughter and three grown up grandchildren, David enjoys, when time permits, boating on canals and rivers, cooking and politics. He also lists football, cricket and gardening amongst his favourite pastimes.

 

David is a member of The Worshipful Company of International Bankers, The Institute of Directors and The Securities and Investment Institute.

James Henry is a qualified accountant with over twenty years experience in the international financial, energy and commodity derivatives markets and a further five years working in the UK oil and gas exploration industry. His responsibilities have included Finance, Compliance, Operations, Customer Services, Sales & Marketing roles, working in both London and Sydney. He has held senior positions at LIFFE, the London Clearing House Ltd (LCH.Clearnet), Cargill Investor Services and MPX (Oil & Gas).

 

James has many years experience of designing and delivering courses to people working in the banking, energy and fund management sectors, both in the UK and overseas, in particular with regard to exchange traded and OTC derivative products, derivatives clearing and settlement operations, hedge funds, fund administration, operations management and operational risk management. .

James’s training style is both practical and interactive. He combines informative presentation with practical exercises and workshop discussions, encouraging delegates to ask questions and participate fully in the seminars. James is enthusiastic about his subjects and responsive to attendee participation.

 

James enjoys golf and tennis and is a keen sports fan. He is married with a family and lives in SE England.

Keith is currently an independent business and training consultant in the area of operations. He has over forty years’ experience in the settlements and operational areas of the securities industry where he has held senior management positions in the market side of the industry and investment management sector.

 

He began his career in 1972 in the Stock Office at Barclays Bank International in London. At various times, he was involved in the UK equity settlement, foreign securities settlement, new issues, corporate actions and, finally, the Eurobond settlements department which he headed-up.

 

After Barclays Keith served as Settlements Manager of Sumitomo Finance International where he was responsible for the Japanese domestic and Eurobond settlements from the dealing, market-making and agency dealing activities.

 

He then moved to ABC International as Associate Director heading the securities and derivatives settlements team. After ABCI, he spent four years as Settlements Manager at Eagle Star Investment Managers where he was responsible for the settlements, custody & securities lending of UK and foreign securities together with derivatives settlements

 

Keith has travelled extensively teaching and lecturing in financial operations and has provided clients with advisory services including custody search and reviews of operations departmental controls and procedures.
